MEET ANDREKA
On the Surface, Andreka Tascenia Nelson is a multifaceted and tenacious individual who prides herself in hard work, commitment to service and her ability to motivate people to action. This mother of one draws daily inspiration from her son to be the best version of herself.
Andreka is a trained Primary Educator with a Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) with a teaching career which spans over 5 years in experience. As an aspiring Lawyer Andreka is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB). She is currently employed to the St James Municipal Corporation in the capacity of Assistant Parish Coordinator; Disaster Preparedness with responsibilities to assist with the overall management of natural and man made disasters.
As an avid philanthropist, in 2018 Andreka founded the “Touched by an Angel Foundation”. This charitable foundation was born from her passion for volunteerism and her love for humanity. The foundation is aimed at ameliorating people’s living standards through need-based assistance and by promoting the welfare of those less fortunate through a scholarship program, street feeding program and care package donation.
This student of life passionately believes that Jamaica’s best days still lie ahead and is committed to playing her part to seeing them realized. Her personal mantra is "Your attitude should create a personal brand that earns you the respect and admiration of your colleagues, peers and just about anyone with whom you interact."
